Refund Policy
A practical explanation of how BrainyShack handles access problems, faulty digital products, change-of-mind requests and approved refunds.
Our products are delivered digitally and can be accessed shortly after checkout. We will investigate genuine product or access problems fairly, and your statutory consumer rights always remain in place.
1. Which purchases this policy covers
This policy covers digital products purchased directly from BrainyShack. Products bought through Notion Marketplace or another independent marketplace may also be governed by the relevant marketplace's purchasing and refund procedures. Applicable statutory consumer rights are not affected.
Free resources do not involve a purchase price, but you can still contact us if access is not working.
2. When to report a problem
Please tell us about an access or product problem as soon as reasonably possible so we can investigate. Contacting us within the first 14 days is helpful, but there is no 14-day deadline for reporting a faulty digital product or exercising any statutory right.
We do not advertise an unconditional 14-day money-back guarantee. Any voluntary goodwill refund is separate from the cancellation rights and remedies consumers may have under law.
3. When a refund or other remedy may be appropriate
We will consider a refund or another suitable remedy when:
- You did not receive the promised product access or delivery information.
- A technical fault prevents reasonable access or duplication of the purchased system.
- The digital product has a material defect or is materially different from its description at purchase.
- An eligible problem cannot be resolved within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience.
Depending on the circumstances and the law, appropriate remedies may include correction, replacement, a price reduction or a refund. We may ask for information reasonably needed to understand the problem.
4. Change of mind and digital delivery
For qualifying distance purchases of digital content, a consumer normally has 14 days from the day the contract is concluded to cancel without giving a reason. Where the law provides otherwise, those statutory rules prevail.
That change-of-mind right can end when digital content supplied without a physical medium begins during the cancellation period only if the customer first gives express consent to early supply, acknowledges that they will lose the cancellation right and receives the required confirmation on a durable medium. Immediate access or duplication alone does not establish that the required conditions have been met.
If those requirements have not been met, the statutory cancellation right may still be available even if digital access has already begun. Contact us at hello@brainyshack.com to cancel where eligible. No particular wording or form is required; any clear statement identifying the purchase and your decision to cancel is sufficient.
The statutory cancellation rules are separate from your rights if digital content is faulty, inaccessible or misdescribed.
5. Requests we would not normally approve voluntarily
Where no statutory remedy applies, a voluntary refund would not normally be offered solely because:
- You have decided you no longer want or need an accessible product after validly losing a change-of-mind cancellation right.
- You expected functionality that the product description did not promise.
- You do not have the required Notion access, compatible device or internet connection.
- An issue was caused by changes made to your own duplicated workspace, rather than a defect in the supplied product.
We review individual circumstances. This section cannot override any statutory right or remedy.
6. Help with access and product issues
Where appropriate, we may help by resending delivery details, clarifying duplication steps, correcting a verified product fault or supplying a suitable corrected or replacement version.
We will not require endless troubleshooting where an appropriate remedy is due or where repeated attempts would cause significant inconvenience.
7. How to request assistance or a refund
For product support, a refund request or a cancellation notice, email hello@brainyshack.com. Include your name, purchase email, product name, order number if available, and a short explanation. Screenshots can be helpful for technical issues but are not mandatory in every case. Never email your full card number or passwords.
For a change-of-mind cancellation where a statutory right still applies, you can use the optional model wording below or simply send us another clear statement before the cancellation period expires.
To: Shackhub Initiatives Ltd (BrainyShack), hello@brainyshack.com
I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following digital content: [product name].
Ordered on: [date]. Name: [full name]. Address: [address]. Date of notice: [date].
Signature is required only if this notice is sent on paper. This form is optional; you may cancel by any other clear statement.
8. Approved refunds
Where a refund is required by law, we will provide it without undue delay and within the applicable legal time limit. For statutory refunds for non-conforming digital content, this is generally no later than 14 days after we agree you are entitled to the refund. Refunds due after a valid cancellation are made within the statutory cancellation-refund period.
Where required by law, a refund is made using the same payment method used for the purchase unless you expressly agree otherwise, and no refund fee is charged. A payment provider may affect how quickly the funds appear in your account.
Where technically possible and appropriate, access to refunded digital content may be withdrawn. Any restriction will not override statutory rights.
9. Your statutory rights
The Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives consumers rights where digital content does not meet the statutory standards for satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and matching its description. Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to repair or replacement within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience, or an appropriate price reduction, which can be a full refund. Other statutory remedies may apply where content cannot lawfully be supplied or causes damage to a device.
These rights are not limited to the first 14 days, and this policy does not exclude or reduce them. A consumer who validly retains a distance-selling cancellation right can exercise it independently of a complaint about defects.
If you have an issue with a direct BrainyShack purchase, email hello@brainyshack.com. Products bought through a marketplace may also be subject to that platform's procedures, without removing mandatory legal rights.
